For three days the Pine Camp Cultural Arts Center Theatre will be transformed into 1920's Harlem. Inviting audiences to allow their imaginations to board the A Train and be transported into the vibrant world of the Harlem Renaissance, where an unforgettable ensemble of characters gather at the legendary Smalls Paradise. Through jazz, blues, tap dance, storytelling, and Hughes’ poetry, they introduce us to a community alive with ambition, romance, humor, hardship, and dreams.

At the center of the story is Country , a young woman who arrives in Harlem from Mississippi searching for a new beginning. Through the people she meets, she discovers a Harlem filled with artists, dancers, dreamers, working people, hustlers, lovers, and survivors. Characters such as Smalls , Blue , Ella , Stix , Diamond , Feet , Broadway , Zora , and others transform Hughes’ poetry into living conversations and stories about everyday Black life.
