Good morning, Mechanicsville.
💼 Business
Local repair shops on West Broad Street are keeping heirloom clocks, lamps, vacuums and appliances running, but owners warn parts and trained technicians are dwindling, and the General Assembly’s Digital Right to Repair bill failed in committee while a related farm-equipment measure moves to next session.
Sheltering Arms signed a lease for nearly 25,000 sqft on the second floor of the former Forever 21 at Regency and will use 13,000 sqft for adaptive and medical fitness programming (joining other medical tenants as the mall shifts to mixed-use).
📰 Economy
Dominion's Integrated Resource Plan update says a typical 1,000 kWh residential bill of about $180 today could rise to roughly $285 by 2046 under the company's preferred plan (57%); the State Corporation Commission's required method projects bills above $458 by 2046 (150%+) and any rate changes still need regulatory approval.
