Dominion Energy's long-term plan would add more than 39 gigawatts of new generation and storage and carries a modeled cost exceeding $183 billion, and the company projects residential bills could rise by over $100 a month across the next 20 years.
Dominion says data centers will sign 14 year contracts with minimum demand charges and post $1.5 million per megawatt in collateral to prevent residents from paying for stranded infrastructure.
